College football news: USC’s Marqise Lee back, Oklahoma’s Trey Metoyer gone
A handful of injured stars look to return to action in week eight, and Clemson is trying to get into the Guinness Book of World Records.

Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly said Tuesday morning that he is preparing his team as if Southern Cal’s injured wideout Marqise Lee will be playing. That turned out to be a pretty good strategy because Lee said after Tuesday’s practice that he expects to be “100 percent” for Saturday’s game against the Fighting Irish.
USC WR Marqise Lee participated in an early portion of practice today and he expects to be 100% and good to go by Saturday at Notre Dame.

Lee has not played since suffering a knee injury while returning a kickoff during the Trojans’ 62-41 loss to Arizona State on Sept. 28.
Trey Metoyer charged with indecent exposure
Oklahoma wide receiver Trey Metoyer was charged with two felony counts of indecent exposure, according to documents filed at the Cleveland Courthouse in Norman, Okla. on Tuesday. Metoyer is alleged to have exposed himself to two separate victims on Aug. 29 and Sept. 17. On Oct. 8, Sooner wide receivers coach Jay Norvell told the media that Metoyer was "taking some personal time from football" after the former five star recruit was conspicuously absent from the Oklahoma sidelines during an Oct. 5 game against TCU. Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops is now saying that he does not expect Metoyer to return to the team.

Metoyer signed with Oklahoma out of high school in February of 2011 but had to spend a year at Hargrave Military Academy. Since arriving in Norman with high expectations in the summer of 2012, Metoyer has caught 19 passes for 166 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Nick Marshall to start against Texas A&M
Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn announced on Tuesday that junior quarterback Nick Marshall will be resuming his duties as the Tigers’ starting quarterback on Saturday when they travel to Kyle Field to take on Texas A&M. Marshall was held out of last week’s 62-3 win over FCS Western Carolina because of a knee injury suffered against Ole Miss.
Marshall’s play at quarterback is a big reason why Malzahn been able to reshape the 3-9 squad left behind by Gene Chizik into a 24th-ranked team that has just one loss to LSU and five wins, four of which are against teams that played in bowl games in 2012. Having Marshall back should give the Tigers a better chance to keep pace with Johhny Manziel and the Aggie offense in what figures to be another shootout in college station.
Clemson will attempt to break crowd noise record
Tajh Boyd is on track to rewrite many ACC career passing records during his farewell tour in Death Valley, but the Clemson athletic department has announced its intention to bring down a record of a different kind this Saturday: the Guinness World Record for Loudest Crowd Roar. The Tigers' Memorial Stadium will play host to what many are billing as the most important conference game in ACC history, and this is certainly represents a unique approach to ensure that the environment is as hostile as possible when the fifth-ranked Seminoles take the field.
Nebraska lineman’s college career likely over
The 2013 college football season has seen more than its share of severe knee injuries, and the Nebraska Cornhuskers learned Tuesday that Spencer Long, their second-team All-American offensive guard, is the latest to have his season ended prematurely. Long injured his knee during the opening series of Saturday's 44-7 win against Purdue. Coach Bo Pelini chose not to give out details about the exact nature of the injury, but it will require surgery that will likely end Long's career as a Cornhusker. Junior Mike Moody is the most likely candidate to replace Long on the starting offensive line.
