No. 10 Miami on halftime upset alert against North Carolina

After having a field goal blocked and returned for a touchdown on their first drive of the second quarter, the North Carolina Tar Heels have regained the upper hand against the Miami Hurricanes with a pair of long drives and hold a 17-13 lead at halftime. After falling behind 13-7 on the blocked field goal, UNC retook the lead on a 22-yard touchdown pass from Bryn Renner to wide receiver Quinshad Davis.

The Tar Heel offense has looked the best it has all season. Both Renner and Marquise Williams have been effective at quarterback for UNC, with the latter coming in to run out of the "trio" or "diamond" formations made famous by Big 12 schools like Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and West Virginia.

Regardless of who has been in at quarterback for UNC, tight end Eric Ebron has been scorching the Miami secondary all night long with seven catches for 144 yards, including a 71-yard touchdown catch before halftime.

Miami is fighting through a pair of potentially serious injuries to Duke Johnson and Phillip Dorsett, so Hurricanes quarterback Stephen Morris, who already has a pair of interceptions on the night, will have to lead the comeback effort without two of his best offensive weapons.
