De’Anthony Thomas will play vs. UCLA after missing 3 games

The junior practiced on Monday and is now ready to go after a sprained ankle he suffered against California several weeks ago.

The Ducks will have star running back De'Anthony Thomas in the fold for this weekend's UCLA game, he announced Monday.

Thomas had not played since spraining his ankle on the opening kickoff against California, missing three full games after that. Oregon did win all three, though -- and in typical Oregon fashion, his services were not really needed for most of them.

Byron Marshall took a majority of the carries in his absence, producing 550 yards and seven touchdowns in the four games Thomas was out.

The 5’9, 175-pound speedster rarely receives a heavy workload, but is undeniably one of the most dangerous weapons in college football. Having him back will almost certainly make things easier against the Bruins, despite the fantastic play of his replacement, Marshall -- Thomas is averaging 8.0 yards per carry on the year, which is over a full yard better.
