Injured Johnny Manziel likely won’t miss a game

Manziel’s shoulder injury probably won’t prevent him from starting against Vanderbilt this weekend.

Johnny Manziel isn't wearing a sling on his throwing arm Tuesday and should be healthy enough to start against Vanderbilt on Saturday, according to CBS Sports' Bruce Feldman.

It’s a positive step for Manziel and the Aggies, but it doesn’t mean the quarterback will be back in practice right away.

Manziel got hurt when he was driven into the ground by an Auburn defender and landed hard on his shoulder. He was apparently wearing the sling Monday to protect him from himself, at least in part.

That didn’t stop him from throwing some passes with his left hand, though.

This is the hit that caused the shoulder injury:

He was clearly in pain when he attempted to throw the ball not long after sustaining the injury, but he managed to return to the game after missing just one series. He finished the day with 454 yards passing and four touchdown throws, though the effort wasn’t enough to down Auburn, which prevailed, 45-41, on the strength of a 21-point outburst in the fourth quarter.

The Aggies host Vanderbilt at noon ET this Saturday.
