Second Missouri QB injured, Maty Mauk still starting vs. South Carolina

The Tigers will only have freshmen available at quarterback on Saturday.

Update: This is now official.

Missouri sophomore quarterback Corbin Berkstresser will miss the Tigers' Saturday night matchup against South Carolina with a leg injury. That leaves the Tigers very thin at the position with only freshman available, according to multiple reports.

Berkstresser was the backup for freshman Maty Mauk, who is starting in place of injured senior James Franklin. Mauk's backup will now be true freshman Eddie Printz, a former three-star prospect from Georgia who choose the Tigers over offers from Florida State and UCLA, among others.

Berkstresser made one apearance this year, throwing an incompletion on his only pass attempt. As a freshman in 2012, he completed around 50 percent of his throws for six yards per attempt to go with five touchdowns against seven interceptions.

In his first career start, Mauk completed 18 of 36 passes for 295 yards with a touchdown and an interception against the Florida Gators.
