How to watch Wake Forest vs. Miami: Preview, TV schedule, odds and more

Here’s all the information you need in order to catch the game between the Demon Deacons and Hurricanes.

Miami had been expected to win the ACC’s Coastal Division before the season began -- we knew the Hurricanes would be good, but I’m not sure many people figured that the Hurricanes would make it this deep into the season without a loss. They’ll try to continue their winning ways against Wake Forest on Saturday, and if the oddsmakers are right, they shouldn’t have much trouble picking up win No. 7.

Wake Forest is playing better football of late, however. The Deacs come in riding a two-game winning streak, including a 34-10 victory over Maryland last week. A season that looked like it was headed down the drain now appears to be salvageable.

The numbers

Rankings and records: Miami comes in at 6-0 (2-0), ranked sixth in the Coaches Poll, seventh in the AP Poll and seventh in the BCS standings. Unranked Wake Forest is 4-3 (2-2). Miami holds a 7-3 edge in the all-time series.

Vegas: Miami opened as a 22-point favorite, and the over/under opened at 54.

Weather: The high in Miami will hit 82, and there’s a 20 percent chance of rain.

Three names to know

Stephen Morris -- Morris has been a little erratic of late; he's thrown six interceptions combined in Miami's last two games, though the miscues obviously didn't cost the team any wins. In general he's been solid, and he's averaging 9.9 yards per pass attempt, which ranks second in the ACC.

Duke Johnson -- The explosive Hurricanes running back is averaging 7.1 yards per carry, easily tops in the ACC among players getting 10+ carries per game.

Michael Campanaro -- The Wake Forest veteran is in the midst of a career year, and should have no trouble setting a new career high in receiving yardage. He has 704 yards receiving so far, and he's making about nine catches per game.

Two things at stake

As long as Miami remains undefeated, it has an outside shot at crashing the BCS title game, and the team is in the thick of the Coastal Division race within the ACC. Virginia Tech is also undefeated in ACC play, and while the meeting between the ‘Canes and Hokies later on may ultimately decide the matter, Miami definitely wants to keep pace at this point.

Wake Forest isn’t winning a division title, but the Deacs still have a realistic shot at getting bowl eligible, and an upset win over Miami -- which would just be gravy -- would leave them one win away. With games against Syracuse and Duke still ahead of them, they seem likely to get there.
