It’s no surprise, but it’s now official: ESPN’s College GameDay will set up shop in Tallahassee next Saturday for terrifying Florida State’s matchup against rival underdog Miami, a battle of two unbeatens who could meet a month from now in the ACC championship game.
Miami-Florida State to host ESPN College GameDay, Week 10

Florida State will host the iconic show for the ninth time, maintaining a streak of hosting for the third season in a row. Before hosting in 2011, the GameDay crew hadn't been to Tallahassee since 2003. With its nine appearances on the show—tying itself with the LSU Tigers and USC Trojans in that category—Florida State is now tied for fourth among schools to have hosted GameDay the most. Florida State trails the Ohio State Buckeyes (13 appearances), Florida Gators (12) and Michigan Wolverines (11).
Both teams enter in position for a win to further bolster legitimate national championship hopes. Both are undefeated, and though Florida State seems much closer to a potential bid in the BCS championship game, an upset win over the No. 3 Seminoles (with a shot at another win next month in a potential ACC title game) would go a long way for the Hurricanes.
Despite a handful of interesting matchups this weekend, Tallahassee was the obvious choice to send GameDay this week, though the past month's developments would have made a nice case for the Missouri Tigers to host against the Tennessee Volunteers.
