Full Week 10 college football TV schedule guide: All eyes on Miami-FSU
Lots and lots of bye weeks this week, but you’ll probably get to see Jameis Winston surge to the front of the Heisman race, if he’s not there already. (Note: We’ve removed games that have already happened, for your convenience.)

Week 10 rivalries
No. 7 Miami at No. 3 Florida State Georgia vs. Florida No. 21 Michigan at No. 22 Michigan State Early shift
Best option: Virginia Tech at Boston College
Announcers: Mike Patrick, Ed Cunningham and Jeannine Edwards
Odds: VT -5
Weather: Low 60s, mostly cloudy
The ACC gets the ABC noon slot to show off how exciting it can be with this one, and while VT and BC look to be on slightly opposite tracks (the Hokies are bowl-eligible already; Boston College might not get there at all), they are close enough that this one should stay tight. Moreover, there’s a lot at stake here; Miami’s likely losing this week, so if that happens, a win here puts VIrginia Tech in a tie for first place in its division. Despite having lost to Duke!
Plan B: No. 24 Wisconsin at Iowa
Wisconsin is much better than its No. 24 rank suggests, as the Badgers continue to be punished for losing at Arizona State in completely unfair fashion. So it goes. Iowa is emerging as a likely bowl team, and the game’s at Kinnick Stadium, so there could be some shenanigans afoot here. And it’s a trophy game.
Keep it in mind: No. 4 Ohio State at Purdue
Purdue’s Ross-Ade Stadium is a scary, scary place for Ohio State, as the Buckeyes have won there once in the last decade (2007). For real. Now, the 31-point line suggests this one will not be close whatsoever, but Purdue has a true freshman quarterback facing a very shaky OSU secondary and a team that just might be up for its best performance of the year, so ... y’know, keep it in mind.
In case of emergency: Mississippi State at No. 14 South Carolina
You wouldn’t think that “just rallied to beat Missouri” would be the Gamecocks’ crowning achievement of the season, not unless that season had gone horribly wrong, but last week’s victory was indeed a stellar performance and worthy of note. Mississippi State isn’t too bad and should give USC a few good quarters, but this one probably won’t come down to the wire or anything, especially if Connor Shaw can go.
Middle shift
Best option: No. 21 Michigan at No. 22 Michigan State
Announcers: Sean McDonough, Chris Spielman and Shannon Spake
Odds: Michigan State -4.5
Weather: Low 40s, partly cloudy
The Big Ten Legends Division's top two teams square off here, and the winner is in prime position to head to Indianapolis for the Big Ten Championship Game against whoever wins the Leaders Division Ohio State. Michigan is maddeningly inconsistent, especially on the road, and MSU boasts a world-class defense. But Michigan's defense is fully capable of harassing Connor Cook and the Spartans into several errors on offense, so really, there's lots of agony at stake. This one should be good though.
Plan B: Georgia vs. Florida at Jacksonville
The World’s Largest Outdoor [muffles voice] Party! Neither team is ranked, which we’ll go ahead and guess you didn’t think was plausible at the beginning of the year, but with the SEC East in such shambles, this game has real SEC Championship ramifications.
Keep it in mind: No. 8 Clemson at Virginia; Navy at No. 25 Notre Dame
There's an outside shot that these ranked teams could be in for an unpleasant Saturday, but with both lines around 17 points it's not particularly likely. At the very least you'll probably get to see Tajh Boyd do his thing against an inferior defense, or — if you wish hard enough — a Navy fullback running untouched through Notre Dame's secondary, even just once, as the football gods intended.
This game has strong zombie barbecue potential.
In case of emergency: Hawaii at Utah State
The Mountain West is like Marilyn Manson. Hear me out. When the MWC is playing late at night (you know, that weird football), it’s oddly endearing and easy to get sucked into all of what’s going on. Do it during the daytime though, and there’s a strong chance it all looks ridiculous, like Henry Rollins’ anecdote about seeing Manson play at an outdoor festival during the afternoon, when the band’s corpse makeup and smoke effects just looked like, as he put it, “a bunch of zombies having a barbecue.” This game has strong zombie barbecue potential.
Late shift
Best option: Miami at Florida State
Announcers: Brent Musburger, Kirk Herbstreit, Heather Cox
Odds: FSU -21
Weather: 60s, clear, perfect, because it’s Florida
Florida State: finishing the job Mark Emmert started. This is going to be the worst beatdown put on a top-10 team since... the last time FSU faced one and wrecked then-No. 3 Clemson's world, 51-14. We're not guessing another 37-point throttling is in store, but it wouldn't be remotely surprising either. Still, this gets "best option" status because watching Jameis Winston is an absolute must on a weekly basis.
Plan B: No. 18 Oklahoma State at No. 15 Texas Tech
As soon as Miami-FSU is out of hand, you can flip over to Fox and watch a pair of the Big 12’s most exciting teams (that don’t rhyme with Schmaylor) go at it. Mike Gundy and Kliff Kingsbury going head to head might be the most sunglasses matchup in college football this week. Even their sunglasses will be wearing sunglasses. Now if only we could get Kingsbury to dial down his fashion sense enough to start wearing a visor.
Keep it in mind: UTEP at No. 12 Texas A&M
Speaking of watching elite QBs pick their teeth with the bones of the opposition, it's Johnny Manziel vs. UTEP! This one kicks off an hour after Miami-FSU, so by the time Winston's putting the finishing touches on his performance, you can flip over and watch Manziel put his foes away.
In case of emergency: Nevada at No. 16 Fresno State
It’s the last televised game of the day and a stellar opportunity for you to watch a team that’s either a BCS-crashing darling or an illegitimate interloper, depending on how good you think Fresno State actually is. Anyway, Nevada’s token defense should be enough for Bulldogs QB Derek Carr to put on a show and reaffirm his status as a future NFL QB.
