How to watch Georgia Tech vs. Miami 2013: Preview, TV schedule, odds and more

Two Coastal Division contenders square off in a showdown of two strong rushing offenses.

Georgia Tech looks to recover from a tough loss to Virginia Tech as they face the No. 14 Miami Hurricanes Saturday in Miami. Television coverage begins at 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU.

The Yellow Jackets started the year 3-0 with two wins over ACC opponents, and looked to be in good position to contend for the Coastal Division title. Georgia Tech opened with a 70-0 thrashing of Elon, and followed that up with wins over divisional opponents Duke (38-14 on the road) and North Carolina (28-20). Against Virginia Tech, however, the triple option stuttered, and Georgia Tech scored just one touchdown en route to a 17-10 loss.

After an opening 34-6 rout of Florida Atlantic, Miami caught public attention with a big 21-16 win over Florida, who was ranked No. 12 at the time. Besides the Gators, the competition has not been exactly steep for the Hurricanes -- their three other opponents have combined for a 2-12 record on the season.

The numbers

Rankings and records: Miami is ranked No. 14 in both polls, while Georgia Tech did not receive any votes. The Hurricanes are 4-0, while the Yellow Jackets are 3-1 (and 2-1 in ACC play). Georgia Tech holds a 10-8 all-time lead in the series, but Miami has won the last four contests between the two schools.

Vegas: Miami is listed as a six-point favorite by most sites. OddsShark has more.

Weather: Mid-80s with scattered thunderstorms.

Three names to know

David Sims. It’s no secret that Georgia Tech relies heavily on the run, and Sims is their main guy, with 50 carries for 248 yards and four scores through four games.

Vad Lee. Paul Johnson was not happy with the Yellow Jackets' performance offensively against Virginia Tech, and he will be hoping to see more out of quarterback Lee, who has ten total touchdowns this year.

Duke Johnson. Miami has some rushing power of their own, as the Hurricanes have one of the best backs in the nation in Johnson. After an outstanding freshman campaign last year, he is averaging 6.3 yards per carry this season.

Two things at stake

After a rough loss to Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech desperately needs to beat Miami to stay in the ACC championship hunt.

Miami is considered the favorite in the Coastal, and would like to prove that to be true with an opening win in conference play.
