The Mountaineers have experienced a decidedly up-and-down season, bouncing back and forth between wins and losses each week. After a close win over William & Mary to start out the year, they fell on the road to Oklahoma to even their record at .500. The next week, they blew out Georgia State at home, only to get blown out by Maryland in Baltimore. Last week, they upset then-No. 11 Oklahoma State 30-21 in Morgantown.
Baylor’s had an explosive start to the year, scoring at least 69 points in each of their first three games. They beat Wofford 69-3 in the opener, Buffalo 70-13 in their next game, and Louisiana-Monroe 70-7 in Week 3. Fresh off a bye week, the Bears are looking to continue their impressive start to the year with a nice conference win.
The numbers
Rankings and records: The Bears are ranked No. 17 in the AP Poll and No. 16 in the Coaches’ Poll. West Virginia is not ranked. Baylor is 3-0, while West Virginia is 3-2 and 1-1 in conference play. West Virginia won the only game all-time between the two schools in 2012, defeating the Bears 70-63 in a shootout.

Weather: Night-time in Waco will be pretty cool, with some clouds. Rain is expected to clear out of the area by kickoff.
Three names to know
Lache Seastrunk. The Baylor running back is averaging 11 yards per carry and has scored six touchdowns this year. And that's not even the best part.
Bryce Petty. Baylor's quarterback eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark in just three games, and has thrown eight touchdowns without a single interception. His top two targets are phenomenal -- Antwan Goodley (26.4 yards per catch) and Tevin Reese (23.3).
Clint Trickett. West Virginia’s third different starting quarterback of the year led the Mountaineers to the big victory, and will be hoping for similar magic in Waco.
Two things at stake
West Virginia won last week with a bang, and will be looking to show that’s what you can expect from the Trickett-led Mountaineers.
Baylor has been by far the most statistically-impressive team in the nation, and will hope to show they can do it against actual competition.
