Chuckie Keeton injury: Utah State QB done for the year with knee injury

Keeton left Friday night’s game against BYU with a knee injury.

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Utah State's star quarterback, Chuckie Keeton, left Friday night's game against BYU after appearing to injury his left knee. After further evaluation from the team trainers and an MRI, he's done for the year, Utah State announced.

Keeton has emerged as a darkhorse Heisman candidate in recent weeks. He’s completed 71 percent of his passes on the season with 1,362 yards and 17 touchdowns. He’s also one of Utah State’s leading rusher with 224 yards and two touchdowns.

To the surprise of no one, the Aggies did not play very well once Keeton left the game. They trailed just 10-7 at the time of his injury, but would end up falling 31-14. Craig Harrison came off the bench and completed 18-of-41 passes for 185 yards. It would seem Harrison, who had very little in-game experience prior to Friday night, will handle the starting duties moving forward.
