College football news: Jameis investigation open, Baylor extends Briles
The college football world may—MAY—have its most troubling story of the year, Baylor locks up its architect of greatness, and more.

Heisman front-runner and fan favorite Jameis Winston, Florida State's wunderkind quarterback, was investigated for sexual assault after an incident in December 2012. The investigation is ongoing, so FSU and Winston aren't talking except to say that Winston's still playing. Winston's attorney is denying the allegations, as lawyers are wont to do. Here's what Tomahawk Nation has uncovered about the situation. Absent more information, we'll have to leave it at that until further notice.
Art Briles, sticking around
In much happier news, Baylor's board of regents approved a contract extension for Art Briles at $3.5 million a year through 2023. As in the year Briles turns 68. As in the year Robert Griffin III turns 33. As in eight years after Back To the Future II takes place. Our Daily Bears has a message for everyone around the world as to what that means.
MACtion, baby
No. 15 Northern Illinois scored three touchdowns in the last six minutes to put away pesky Ball State, 48-27. Jordan Lynch won't win the Heisman, but he may have earned himself a plane ticket to New York for the ceremony with his 468-yard, four-touchdown performance in the win. NIU is just one win at Toledo next week away from locking up the division and setting its sights on the MAC Championship. Oh, and in other MACtion, Kent State beat Miami by the rousing score of 24-6. Both teams are still horrible.
Louisville to the ACC
Officially, finally. Louisville is all clear to join the ACC in 2014 after some wrangling. In fact, Wednesday we learned that Louisville told the Big East it was leaving even before the Cardinals knew where they’d end up.
Will Muschamp safe?
Finally, Florida says it’s “one thousand percent” behind embattled head coach Will Muschamp. Yes, one thousand percent; that’s AD Jeremy Foley’s wording, not ours. One thousand is way too many percent. Something’s up.
