According to Florida head coach Will Muschamp, quarterback Tyler Murphy has yet to practice this week with his shoulder injury, making it fairly likely that the Gators will turn to their third-string quarterback, Skyler Mornhinweg -- son of Jets offensive coordinator Marty -- against No. 10 South Carolina.

Tyler Murphy has yet to practice and could be a game-time decision.

Muschamp: "Tyler could be a game-time decision ... he hasn't taken any reps at all this week, to be honest with you."

Though it hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, there continue to be rumors that Murphy will miss the rest of the season.
- @bradyack tells us he'd be "shocked" if Tyler Murphy plays for Florida this weekend. Believes he may be done for the year.

This news could not come at a worse time for Muschamp, whose job security has been the target of much speculation in recent weeks, especially as the Gators have faded after a 4-1 start. Florida has lost four straight conference games since their win over Arkansas.
Murphy, a junior who came in against Tennessee after Jeff Driskel suffered a season-ending broken leg, has thrown for 1,216 yards, six touchdowns and five interceptions this season. He is completing 60.5 percent of his passes.
Mornhinwheg is a redshirt freshman and has never seen game action of any kind, although he was a three star recruit and a top 20 dual threat quarterback prospect in 2012, according to the 247sports composite.
