Reports emerged Sunday that former Jaguars head coach and current Broncos defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio had interviewed for USC’s head coaching job, and Del Rio has responded -- with what can safely be called a favorable comment for the Trojans.

USC’s current head coach and their possible future one talk about the latter’s reported interview.

Jack Del Rio said he was honored that USC reached out to him. Focus is on Broncos for now. But "down the road, who knows where that goes."

Del Rio spent his college days with the Trojans, as an All-American linebacker named MVP of the 1985 Rose Bowl. He has spent his entire coaching career in the NFL, but a move to college could be in the works if his alma mater comes knocking.
USC upset Stanford Saturday night, bringing in a huge win for the program, and interim head coach Ed Orgeron was asked about Del Rio’s interview.
“That’s the first that I’ve heard about that, and I really don’t care. I know he has a job to do, and I know he’s going to go out there and interview the best guys available for USC. My focus today is really celebrating our big win against Stanford, being with our coaches, doing the best job I can for USC and focusing on Colorado. That’s all I can do, and that’s really important to me. I’d rather be in this position ... being with the Trojans, than being in any other position.”
The Trojans’ win over the Cardinal and USC’s 5-0 conference record under Orgeron have left some fans wanting the interim coach to turn permanent -- here’s a behind-the-scenes look of Coach O’s gameday experience.
