Alabama, Florida State still strong national title favorites

Stanford is off the board, while Auburn sees its stock improve after a miraculous win over Georgia.

Kevin C. Cox

After an absolutely absurd week of college football, it appears the national title picture is getting even clearer, as Alabama and Florida State’s odds continue to improve with each week that they survive undefeated, via Bovada.

Odds to win the 2013-2014 BCS National Championship

Team Week 12 Current

Alabama 5/4 1/1

Florida State 7/4 8/5

Baylor 4/1 7/1

Ohio State 17/2 10/1

Oregon 20/1 20/1

Auburn 66/1 33/1

Missouri Off the Board 75/1

Stanford 25/1 Off the Board

Odds to win the 2013-2014 Heisman Trophy

Player Week 12 Current

Jameis Winston (QB Florida State) 1/5 4/11

Johnny Manziel (QB Texas A&M) 4/1 5/2

A.J. McCarron (QB Alabama) 7/1 13/2

Bryce Petty (QB Baylor) 20/1 10/1

Even after a blowout of Texas Tech, Baylor’s odds get worse, while Ohio State’s stock falls after a 25-point win over Illinois. Stanford falls off the board after its upset loss to USC, while SEC teams Auburn and Missouri stay lurking as the two teams hoping to knock off Alabama.

In the Heisman race, Jameis Winston continues to be the strong favorite, with Johnny Manziel behind him. Bryce Petty improves his stock after a five-touchdown performance against Texas Tech, and the race could be closer than first expected.
