Clemson defensive end Vic Beasley is one of several Tigers who could choose to forgo their final year of college eligibility and enter the NFL Draft. Beasley is in the midst of a career year that has him in contention for several awards; it's also got his draft stock rising.
Vic Beasley shouldn’t leave Clemson for the NFL, says Dabo
Would Beasley be better off if he returned for his senior season? Dabo Swinney thinks so.

When asked Monday about some of his juniors potentially declaring for the draft, head coach Dabo Swinney said he thought it best for all of them to return, save perhaps Sammy Watkins:
“I don’t think any of those guys should come out other than maybe Sammy (Watkins),” Swinney said Monday. “I think all those guys need another year. I don’t think there’s any question about it. If anybody’s telling them otherwise, they’re not very well-informed.”
Swinney also reiterated his opinion that unless a player is a surefire first-round pick, it's in his best interests to return. He said the same thing in January after DeAndre Hopkins elected to skip his senior season and enter the 2013 draft. Swinney didn't agree with Hopkins' choice to go pro, but the wide receiver ended up as a late first-round selection of the Houston Texans, and he's had a solid rookie campaign.
As for Beasley, it seems there’s a good chance he ends up being a first-rounder, too. SB Nation’s Matthew Fairburn has the speedy defensive end going 31st overall in his latest mock draft. Other prospect evaluators, including Mel Kiper, see Beasley as a first-round talent.
Beasley is one of just eight FBS players to record double-digit sacks so far this season, and he leads all juniors with 16.5 tackles for loss.
