3 things to know about Jameis Winston, Florida State’s star QB
Winston’s going worldwide in his notoriety already, and it’s hard to blame anyone for paying attention.

As of this week, Jameis Winston and Mariota are far and away the top two Heisman Candidates in Las Vegas, with both guys at or near even odds. It's hard to say that either player deserves to win the trophy over the other; it'll likely come down to how both guys perform down the stretch. As it should be, really.
Winston’s stats on the year are absurd: in just seven games, he’s at 2,177 yards, 23 touchdowns and only four picks, while usually out by halfway through the third quarter. His 207.0 rating is second-best in college football to only Baylor’s Bryce Petty, and again—he’s just a freshman. Unbelievable.
2. His “put a smile on your face” speech was awesome.
It’s still just the first week of November, so there’s lots of awesome football left to be played, but for now, it’s hard to think of a more indelible image than Winston’s pre-game speech to his fellow ‘Noles:
Yep, that’s the guy who’s about to go out and lay waste to the No. 3 team at its own stadium.
It’s such a great moment that Tomahawk Nation went ahead and put it on a t-shirt, so if garnet’s your color go ahead and check it out.
3. The Taiwan animated news people love him.
Over at NMA World Edition, the people who are responsible for all those insane, computer-animated “news” features you often see, they have a mild fascination with Winston—they’ve tweeted multiple videos about FSU right to me (yes, my life is charmed), and they prefer referring to him by his nickname: Famous Jameis.
Look, when even Taiwan is paying attention to your season, there’s something special happening.
