Oklahoma State knocked off Texas Tech 52-34 on the Red Raiders' home turf thanks to a balanced offensive attack led by Cowboy quarterback Clint Chelf. With the win and conference leaders Texas and Baylor still ahead on Oklahoma State's schedule, the Cowboys control their own destiny in the Big 12.

Oklahoma State's lead was just 28-24 coming out of halftime, but the Cowboys' offense exploded out of the locker room for a 21-point third quarter. The Cowboy lead was stretched to 18 points after Chelf broke off a 67-yard touchdown run on a designed quarterback draw, prompting play-by-play man Gus Johnson to say that Chelf has "gettin' away from the cops speed."
Texas Tech was able to chip into Oklahoma State’s lead at times, but the Cowboys kept responding with scores of their own. Any chance that Texas Tech had of mounting a comeback evaporated when the Oklahoma State defense forced a turnover on downs after the Red Raiders had first-and-goal on the Cowboys’ two-yard line, late in the fourth quarter.
Box Score Hero: Clint Chelf did throw a pair of interceptions -- one of which was returned 21 yards for a touchdown -- but had an otherwise excellent game against the Red Raiders, beating them both in the ground and in the air. Chelf had 211 yards passing, 88 yards rushing and 4 total touchdowns.
Rankings Ramifications: Texas Tech and Oklahoma came into this game ranked 15th and 18th in the BCS, respectively. Texas Tech will likely drop into the low 20s. Oklahoma State should, at minimum, jump over Texas Tech, but with little drama in the top 15 this weekend, moving up more than a spot or two might be difficult. It’s worth noting that, in last week’s poll, the Cowboys were ranked right behind Northern Illinois and Fresno State. Voters and computers might look to reward Oklahoma State with an impressive road win over a top-15 opponent by putting them ahead of the pair of non-BCS schools.
Texas Tech picks up its second conference loss and falls two games back in the Big 12 standings. Oklahoma State moves to 4-1 in conference play, good for a two-way tie with in-state rival Oklahoma.
