The Oklahoma State Cowboys turned the Baylor Bears' dream season into a nightmare, crushing them 49-17 on a cold night in Stillwater.

The Cowboys made a statement on Saturday night, smashing Baylor’s national title hopes in the process.
Things started slowly, as it felt like both teams were adjusting to the cold temperatures. However, it increasingly looked like Baylor's offense was out of sync, as they're playing without running backs Lache Seastrunk and Glasco Martin, wide receiver Tevin Reese, as well as left tackle Spencer Drango. They nearly broke through first, but Shock Linwood fumbled on the one-yard line and Oklahoma State recovered. The Cowboys then drove 99 yards in seven plays to take a 7-0 lead. The Cowboys extended their lead to 14-0 on a touchdown pass from Clint Chelf to Charlie Moore, and they went into the half with a 14-3 lead.
Any expectations of a quick Baylor adjustment in the second half were quickly shut down. Oklahoma State came out firing in the third quarter, stretching their lead to 35-3 before Baylor would finally get in the end zone. They kept the heat on in the fourth quarter, adding another pair of touchdowns to make it a laugher at 49-10. The Bears would add another touchdown late on a pass from Bryce Petty to Levi Norwood, but the game was well over at that point.
Oklahoma State dominated in practically every aspect of the game. They outgained Baylor 598 to 453, and forced three turnovers, two deep in their own territory. Baylor was without some key contributors, but the difference between the two teams was wider than just a few players.
Box Score Hero: Clint Chelf was masterful for the Cowboys, going 19-25 for 370 yards and three touchdowns and also rushing for another score.
Rankings Ramifications: This game will have a huge impact on the national landscape. Baylor came into the game ranked fourth in the latest BCS standings, just a hair behind Ohio State. Oklahoma State was ranked 10th in the latest standings. The Bears will obviously take a tumble and the Cowboys will climb, but it will be interesting to see just how high they go as a result of the win.
But Did They Cover? The Bears were a 7.5-point favorite at kickoff, so they did not cover the spread.
