Aaron Murray’s Georgia career ended by torn ACL

The Bulldogs’ star sees his college career end prematurely thanks to a knee injury.

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Star Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray will have surgery on his left knee after an ACL tear suffered in the Bulldogs' win against Kentucky, ending the senior's college career.

Murray left the game in the second quarter, and will miss the season finale against Georgia Tech as well as the bowl game. He finishes the year with 26 touchdown passes, bringing the four-year starter’s career total up to 121, easily breaking David Greene’s school record. Murray is also the SEC’s all-time leader in career passing yards.

The quarterback thanked the fanbase on Twitter after the news came out.

While Murray’s college career is over, he may get a shot at the professional level. SB Nation’s Mocking the Draft ranks Murray as the 13th-best quarterback in the class, but he will get a chance to prove himself as recovers in pre-draft workouts as well as during interviews.
