Auburn weather forecast for 2013 Iron Bowl: No problems expected

Mid 50s and mostly sunny is on the table as the Tide square off against the Tigers.

Alabama and Auburn square off this week in the newest game of the year of the century of the week, as the top-ranked Crimson Tide hope to hold off the No. 4 Tigers in the Iron Bowl. So let’s talk about weather! And iron!

Fun fact about iron! The freezing point is the same as the boiling point -- 2,800 degrees Fahrenheit -- so no matter how cold it gets in Auburn Saturday, the Iron Bowl will remain unaffected. At least matter-wise. The internet seems inconclusive, meanwhile, on the freezing temperature for bowls.

The high in Auburn on Saturday is 58 degrees, with a low of 37. It’s expected to be mostly sunny, with no clouds and a slight chance of rain. A slight wind is expected at seven miles per hour.

The game is expected to kick-off at 3:30 p.m. ET, putting the likely temperature in the mid 50s -- a reasonable level for a late November game. It’s hard to imagine that gives either team any advantage.
