Georgia and Georgia Tech came into the season with pretty high expectations. Both teams have fallen short of those expectations, with injuries really derailing any hopes the Bulldogs had of a national title. On Saturday, the 109th playing of the game nicknamed Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate will commence at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

The big storyline in this one will be Hutson Mason making the first start of his career. Aaron Murray’s college career is over after he tore his ACL last week, and now Mason will get his first shot at running the offense in Athens. All eyes will be on the redshirt junior, especially since most view him as UGA’s starter in 2014.
The numbers
Rankings and records: Neither team comes in ranked. Georgia leads the all-time series 63-40-5, winning 11 of the last 12.
Vegas: Georgia comes in as a 3.5-point favorite.
Weather: It’ll be a nice day for football with temperatures in the low-50s at kickoff.
Three names to know
Hutson Mason - We already touched on Mason a bit, but his performance on Saturday will really be under a microscope. He has huge shoes to fill, and a strong performance against the Yellow Jackets would go a long way towards him locking down the starting spot in 2014.
Todd Gurley - One of the most talented running backs in the nation, look for Gurley to have a monster day against a questionable Georgia Tech front-seven.
Vad Lee - Lee leads GT's triple-option attack. He's thrown for 1,182 yards, rushed for 426 yards and has 14 total touchdowns.
Two things at stake
A win for Georgia would be a nice way to end a frustrating up-and-down season.
A win for Georgia Tech would be their biggest of the season and would help bring some of the GT faithful back in Paul Johnson’s corner.
