Duke vs. North Carolina 2013 results: Blue Devils clinch ACC Coastal title

An interception in the waning seconds sealed the victory for the Duke Blue Devils, who will play in the ACC championship game against Florida State.

Duke will face Florida State for the ACC Championship next weekend, following a thrilling 27-25 victory over rival North Carolina on Saturday.

The fourth quarter went back and forth, but it was North Carolina's ball last. Marquise Williams had two minutes to drive the Tar Heels down the field for a field goal, trailing 27-25. He threw an interception, ensuring the Duke Victory.

Despite two first half rushing touchdowns by Williams, Duke went into halftime with the lead. Following the second Williams touchdown, DeVon Edwards took the kickoff 99 yards to give the Blue Devils a 17-15 lead after the extra point, the score at the half.

UNC received the kick to start the second half. After intercepting a Williams pass, Duke marched down the field for a 50-yard touchdown drive culminating in a seven-yard Jamison Crowder touchdown catch. It looked like Duke was ready to pull away, but UNC just wasn't going to go down.

Box Score Hero: Duke’s Anthony Boone went 23/34 for 274 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Rankings Ramifications: Duke will represent ACC Coastal in the ACC Championship game against Florida State.

But Did They Cover? Duke was favored by anywhere from 4 1/2 to 5 1/2, so no, they did not cover.
