The final month of the regular season is upon us, and there was no shortage of news on Sunday as teams reflect on their Week 10 performances. Let’s dig right in to everything that made headlines, including yet another BCS shakeup and a high-profile coach refuting USC rumors.
College football news: Florida State jumps Oregon in BCS; Miami radio host threatens FSU player
The Seminoles are on pace to face Alabama for the national championship once again.

Florida State jumps Oregon for No. 2 spot in BCS
For the third week in a row, there’s a different team at No. 2 in the BCS standings. Following an impressive win over Miami, the Florida State Seminoles have jumped Oregon.
Alabama remained No. 1 after having the week off, while Ohio State held firm at No. 4. Stanford moved up a spot to round out the top five. The full BCS rankings for Week 11 can be found here.
Miami radio host tweets threatening message about FSU player
Shortly after the Hurricanes were blown out by Florida State, Dan Sileo, a former Miami player and current radio host, tweeted this out:
640 Sports, who employs Sileo, is looking into the situation.
Notre Dame has played Navy and Air Force the last two weeks. As two teams that run the triple option almost exclusively, the Irish have taken a beating on defense with all the cut blocks they've had to deal with. On Sunday, Kelly attributed the chop blocks as the main reason why they've lost a handful of starters to injuries, including Ishaq Williams, Kona Schwenke and Sheldon Day.
Things are unlikely to get any easier for the Irish moving forward. They still have to face BYU and Stanford to end the season, two teams that love to pound the ball on the ground.
Jeff Long denies interviewing for Texas AD job
Jeff Long, the current Arkansas athletic director and member of the new College Football Playoff selection committee, was reportedly to interview to become the next AD at Texas. But:
Further, I’m not seeking a position or engaged in the search process of another University

Lovie Smith denies interviewing for USC coaching job
After Jason La Canfora reported that Lovie Smith was interviewing for the open coaching job at USC, the former Chicago Bears coach denied the rumors.
Smith denying the rumors -- regardless if they are true or not -- shouldn’t come as a surprise. Even if he had an agreement in place with USC’s athletic department to become the next coach, universities always prefer to keep things like this quiet. There’s been no shortage of candidates linked to the Trojans, and it’s anyone’s best guess to when a final decision is made.
Michigan's Taylor Lewan twists Michigan State player's facemask
If the 29-6 loss wasn’t bad enough for the Wolverines, there is now video of Taylor Lewan, a senior offensive tackle, playing dirty. Take a look for yourself:
