Oregon’s BCS National Championship odds gaining on Alabama’s

The Ducks’ odds improved this week, though the Crimson Tide are still the favorites to win it all.

With about a month left in the regular season, the field of BCS title contenders continues to narrow. Miami is off the board this week after losing to Florida State on Saturday, leaving seven teams still with a shot at the championship in the eyes of Vegas oddsmakers.

As usual, Alabama has the best odds of winning the national title, though the Tide’s chances dipped slightly from 8/5 a week ago to 7/4. Oregon’s odds improved from 9/4 to 11/5, while Stanford’s took a tumble from 33/1 to 40/1. The Ducks are two-score favorites to beat Stanford this week, which may partially explain the change in their respective title odds.

Marcus Mariota remains the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy — his odds improved from 1/1 to 2/3 this week. Jameis Winston is right behind him at 6/5, followed by Johnny Manziel, A.J. McCarron and Bryce Petty.
