After resigning last week, former FAU coach Carl Pelini is reportedly seeking reinstatement, and is denying all charges of drug use.
Former FAU coach Carl Pelini denies drug use accusations
Pelini says that he was forced out and is currently seeking reinstatement.

According to statements made earlier today, Pelini claims that he was fired not for using illegal drugs, but rather for “failure to supervise [my] staff.” Pelini also denied that he knew of any illegal drug usage among the coaching staff or by himself, and that he was forced into resignation, even after volunteering to take a drug test.
In addition to this, Pelini’s statement claims that he was fired without written notice or a 30-day investigation period, which are both required in his contract.
This version of events does not match up with the ones given by FAU athletic director Patrick Chun, who said that Pelini and former FAU defensive coordinator Pete Rekstis both declined to take a drug test. Chun is also reportedly in possession of ample evidence regarding Pelini’s drug usage, including a text message sent to Allison Stewart that confirms it.
SBNation reported about Pelini’s drug use last week, which is also backed up by several sworn affidavits from defensive line coach Matt Edwards and Stewart, who has been described as a “personal friend” of the coaches.
The Owls won their first game without Pelini last weekend, defeating Tulane.
