Oregon called for questionable pass interference vs. Stanford

The Ducks were called for a penalty that could have gone either way, keeping Stanford’s scoring drive alive.

Scott Olmos-USA TODAY Sports

With Stanford threatening to push its lead to two scores, Oregon's Ifo Ekpre-Olomu was penalized for pass interference as he attempted to keep Michael Rector from coming down with another Kevin Hogan pass.

Both Rector and Ekpre-Olomu were grabbing at each other on the play, and a no-call by the officials in this situation -- or even a flag against Rector for pushing Ekpre-Olomu in the back -- would have been totally understandable. As it turned out, the Ducks were penalized 15 yards, and Kevin Hogan would go on to punch the ball into the end zone on an 11-yard run, giving Stanford a 14-0 lead.
