How to watch UCLA vs. Arizona: Preview, TV time, odds and more

Neither team can afford another loss, but one team will.

Arizona reached bowl eligibility by beating California, 33-28, last weekend, and with that firmly under its belts, the Wildcats turn their attention to a potential Pac-12 South crown. Standing in their way will be UCLA, which is hungry to defend its title. Neither can afford a loss of any kind.

One thing to keep an eye on here is UCLA’s tendency to start slowly -- the Bruins have trailed in a good number of their games before turning it on, and it could come back to bite them against a talented Arizona team.

The numbers

Rankings and records: No. 19 UCLA has a 20-15-2 all-time record against Arizona. The Bruins won, 66-10, the last time these two teams met.

Vegas: Vegas has spotted UCLA as a 2.5-point favorite, although the line dropped to one point quickly.

Weather: Weather in Tucson should be sunny and clear, with no chance of rain.

Three names to know

Ka'Deem Carey (Arizona running back) -- For the Wildcats, everything starts with Carey, who -- pun intended -- carries the offense. Averaging 153 yards a game, the junior crossed over the thousand-yard mark against Cal last weekend and has 10 touchdowns on the year.

Anthony Barr (UCLA linebacker) -- A future top-10 pick, Barr will be in charge of keeping containment on Carey all afternoon. He was held without a tackle for loss against Colorado, his first game this year without one. No matter -- he already has 13 this season, to go along with six sacks.

Jordan Zumwalt (UCLA linebacker) -- Another core member of the UCLA linebacking group, Zumwalt has 56 tackles, good for third on the team. Carey hasn't played against linebackers as good as the four that the Bruins sport, and his attempts to get past them will be well worth watching.

Two things at stake

Having lost two straight to Stanford and Oregon, UCLA got back to its winning ways by pounding Colorado last weekend. The Bruins will need to keep winning, as they still trail Arizona State in the division and have two losses to the Sun Devils’ one. Still, if they keep winning and beat ASU later this month, that game could end up deciding the South.

Arizona is looking for a South crown itself, and the Wildcats are tied with the Bruins behind ASU. A loss for either team would likely knock it out of contention.
