After two terrific games on Thursday night, the college football slate this Saturday isn’t so great. The headliner is undoubtedly No. 1 Alabama welcoming in No. 13 LSU to town, but that one won’t kick off until later in the evening. The rest of the top-10 teams in action -- Florida State, Missouri and Auburn -- are all on the road, but they’re all listed as pretty heavy favorites.
Saturday’s college football schedule: Game times, TV coverage for Week 11 games
All eyes will be on Alabama-LSU on Saturday night with not much else going on.
There are a couple of intriguing games on the west coast as Arizona welcomes in No. 19 UCLA and undefeated Fresno State travels to Wyoming, though these games won’t start until 10 p.m. ET or later.

No. 13 LSU vs. No. 1 Alabama (-12.5), 8 p.m. ET, CBS
In what could be Alabama’s toughest challenge yet, the Crimson Tide will welcome in LSU to Bryant-Denny Stadium with their national title hopes on the line. The last time these two teams met in Tuscaloosa, the Tigers came out on top with a 9-6 win.
For the third year in a row, Alabama continues to fire away. AJ McCarron may be having his best season yet, throwing for 1,862 yards, 16 touchdowns and just three interceptions through 10 weeks. T.J. Yeldon and Kenyan Drake headline the Tide's rushing attack to keep things balanced and could be in for a big day against LSU's iffy run defense.
Where ‘Bama really shines, though, is on defense. Nick Saban’s bunch leads the nation in scoring defense, and they will really challenge Zach Mettenberger and LSU’s offensive line with their vaunted pass rush.
That’s not to say the Tigers don’t have any chance in this one. Mettenberger and LSU’s offensive attack can put up a lot of points in a hurry -- they are averaging just over 40 points per game. They may also be catching Alabama on cruise control since the Tide blew out its last six opponents. The Tigers will need to play 60 minutes of mistake-free football, but if they do, the nation’s top team could fall this weekend.
No. 16 Fresno State (-9) vs. Wyoming, 10:15 p.m., ESPN2
If Fresno State can finish the season undefeated, it’ll likely to earn a bid to a BCS bowl game. Behind dark horse Heisman candidate Derek Carr, the Bulldogs rank eighth nationally in scoring offense. Their trip to Wyoming is arguably their toughest challenge remaining this year.
The Cowboys have dropped three of their last four games and come in with a 4-4 record, but that doesn’t tell the whole story. They held tough with Nebraska for four quarters on the road before eventually losing by three, and they rank 20th nationally in both passing and rush offense. If quarterback Brett Smith can limit his turnovers, this offense has the firepower to hang with Fresno State. For those of you with teams in the hunt for a BCS bowl game, this one will be worth staying up for.
No. 9 Auburn (-7.5) vs. Tennessee, noon, ESPN
Auburn’s next three games will be as challenging as any team’s in the land. First up is a road trip into Tennessee where the Volunteers will look to get back on track after being blown out by Alabama and Missouri the last two weeks.
Auburn has won five in a row and looks to be a serious contender in the BCS. Behind a run game that ranks 5th in the country in yards per game -- four players have more than 45 carries and 450 yards -- the Tigers are 8-1 with their lone loss coming on the road against LSU. The defense is also leaps and bounds better than it was last year; they'll likely look to mix up their coverage and confuse freshman quarterback Joshua Dobbs.
With at least one team ahead of them in the rankings already losing this week (Oregon), a win with some style points could go a long way when the new BCS standings are unveiled Sunday night.
A win for the Vols would be a statement win for Butch Jones. At 4-5, Tennessee appears to be back on the right track towards relevancy in the SEC, and a win this weekend would go a long way toward getting the school back to a bowl game.
As they’ve shown this season by beating South Carolina and hanging tough with Georgia on the road, there’s no denying the Vols have the talent to pull the upset on Saturday if Dobbs plays well and the defense is able to keep AU’s running game from reaching the secondary.
