Benjamin apparently suffered the concussion while running a crossing route over the middle of the field. After being examined by the training staff on the sidelines, he walked back to the locker room. He then returned to the field about 10 minutes later without his helmet on. With the Seminoles already holding a commanding lead over Wake Forest, there was zero reason to rush him back.
Benjamin, a sophomore, is one of Jameis Winston’s favorite targets on the outside. He’s hauled in 25 passes for 476 yards and five touchdowns this season. Prior to getting hurt on Saturday, he had caught two passes for 23 yards and a score.
