The Tennessee Volunteers looked like they were in trouble. After taking an early lead against the ninth-ranked Auburn Tigers, they had fallen into a 27-13 hole late in the first half. The Tigers had the ball again, but defensive end Jacques Smith picked off a screen pass and took it 18 yards for a touchdown to keep the Vols alive.

It wasn’t a great throw from Nick Marshall, but all credit goes to Smith for having the incredible reflexes to grab that pass with his fingertips. He did pick up a celebration penalty for spiking the ball once he got into the end zone, and that came back to haunt the Vols, as Auburn answered less than 30 seconds later with a touchdown of their own.
