Alabama athletic director Bill Battle has refused to comment on the raging Nick Saban-to-Texas rumors, saying instead that the Tide are only focused on their upcoming bowl game.

The rumors started as soon as reports emerged that longtime Longhorns head coach Mack Brown would not be returning to the school. Texas is thought to be one of the top coaching positions in all of college football despite their lack of recent dominance, and though Saban’s Tide have won two straight national titles, the promise of an historic contract could lure college football’s top head coach to Austin.

Alabama plays Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl on January 2, while Texas plays Oregon in the Alamo Bowl on December 30. The Tide were the top-ranked team in the nation until their regular season-ending loss to Auburn in the Iron Bowl.
