Rivalries run deep in college football, but not that deep.
Alabama’s AJ McCarron rooting for Auburn to win national championship
The Tide’s fierce rivals knocked them out of national title contention in the season finale.

Alabama quarterback and Heisman finalist AJ McCarron says he will be rooting for fierce rivals Auburn in the national title game as they take on Florida State, holding the SEC’s national title streak above the schools’ rivalry in the game.
McCarron on CBS, on if the SEC's BCS Title streak will continue: 'I hope so. It may be the only night I wear orange and blue.'
— Chuck Dunlap (@SEC_Chuck) December 14, 2013 A three-year starter for the Tide, McCarron lost against Auburn for the first time in this season’s Iron Bowl, when the Tigers arose from the dead to stun the top-ranked Tide by returning a missed field goal from the end zone with time expired for the winning score. The game knocked Alabama out of the SEC Championship Game and out of a likely national title berth against the Seminoles.
