The last couple days of the year are always loaded with entertaining bowl games, and that will be the case once again when Dec. 30 rolls around on this year’s calendar. At Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Middle Tennessee and Navy are set to face off in the 2013 Armed Forces Bowl. Here’s everything you need to know about the game.

Rankings and records: Both teams come in with 8-4 record, though neither of them are ranked. The Midshipmen come in riding a four-game winning streak, while the Blue Raiders haven’t lost since mid-October.
Vegas: Navy opened as a seven-point favorite. The over/under is set at 56 points.

Three names to know
Keenan Reynolds: Now the record holder for quarterback touchdown runs in a season – he ran into the end zone three times against Army in the season finale, giving him 29 for the year – Reynolds makes everything go for the Midshipmen. He finished the year with 1,260 rushing yards to go along with 1,038 passing yards.
Logan Kilgore: A senior with three years of starting experience, Kilgore played pretty well in 2013. He threw for 2,289 yards, 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, leading the Blue Raiders to a handful of closely-contested wins.
Jordan Parker: MTSU likes to share carries between a handful of tailbacks, but Parker led the way with 741 yards and six touchdowns on 145 carries. At 6'1, 207 pounds, he runs bigger than most of the running backs Navy saw this season.
Two things at stake
Middle Tennessee has won one bowl game (2009) over the last 50 years. A win over Navy would be quite the achievement for coach Chris Massaro.
While the Midshipmen have been a bit more fortunate with their postseason fate in recent years, they’re still 1-5 in bowls since 2006. With a big win over Army behind them, a loss would be pretty deflating for the players to end the season with.
