Rutgers will keep head coach Kyle Flood and fire assistants Dave Cohen (defensive coordinator), Damian Wroblewski (offensive line coach), and Rob Spence (quarterbacks coach), according to multiple reports. The news comes a day after the team reached 6-6 and clinched a Pinstripe Bowl against Notre Dame, all amid some ugly losses and off-the-field issues.

Flood is a relative newcomer to the head coaching position, getting his first shot to lead a program when he took over for Greg Schiano at Rutgers in 2012. Flood maintained the program momentum Schiano had built up to that point, leading the Scarlet Knights to a nine-win season and a bid to the Russell Athletic Bowl.
Flood, 42, has extensive coaching history in the New York/New Jersey region. After his playing career at Iona, he took a coaching job at St. Francis Prep in 1993. His first job at the college level came at LIU Post, a Division-II school, where he served as the offensive line coach in 1995 and 1996. He coached in that same capacity at Hofstra and would also coach the OL at Delaware before taking the offensive line coaching job at Rutgers in 2005. He became the associate head coach in 2008.
During his time at Rutgers, he tutored several linemen who would earn first- or second-team all-conference selections. That includes Anthony Davis, who became the highest-drafted player in school history when he was selected 11th overall in the 2010 NFL Draft by the 49ers.
He helped to orchestrate some powerful offensive lines with talent like Davis', including a unit in 2007 that allowed just 10 sacks all year. That group also helped running back Ray Rice pile up more than 2,000 yards rushing.
The Scarlet Knights earned bowl bids in seven of the eight years prior to 2013, all of them coming with Flood on staff.
