Four members of the Alabama football team were arrested on Monday on charges of robbery and credit card fraud. The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office lists linebacker Tyler Hayes, defensive lineman D.J. Pettway, and defensive back Eddie Williams as jailed for robbery. Williams was also detained with fraudulent use of debit/credit card, along with running back Brent Calloway.

Fresh off the recruiting trail, Nick Saban has a major issue to deal with in Tuscaloosa.
The four have been indefinitely suspended, Nick Saban announced Tuesday afternoon:
The young men charged are indefinitely suspended as we continue to gather information and talk to the appropriate people. The University and football program have strict guidelines regarding issues of this magnitude. This behavior is unacceptable for any student-athlete at the University of Alabama and not representative of our football program.

Williams and Hayes admitted to the attack, which caused cuts to the victim’s face, a mild concussion and severe swelling, according to the warrants.
The player said that they stole the victim’s backpack, which contained his Apple laptop computer.
In a second robbery, Williams admitted to police that he punched a student’s head and face while Pettway and Hayes stood by and watched. He said that he stole the student’s wallet and later used his student identification card to buy snacks from a vending machine in the football player’s dorm.

All four players arrested are coming off their freshman seasons, and were not key contributors on Alabama’s 2013 BCS Championship team. Pettway is probably in line for the biggest boost in his role, as he tallied just eight tackles during his freshman campaign, but four were for loss with 2 1/2 coming as sacks.
Hayes amassed 14 tackles and one quarterback hurry during his first year in Tuscaloosa. Calloway was used sparingly in 2012, carrying the ball just 10 times for 63 yards. Williams redshirted this past year.
This isn’t the first time Calloway has had trouble with the law. He was arrested in October, 2011 for marijuana possession.
