Spring practice usually only means a time to lose players rather than discover them, as costly injuries have sidelined numerous starters. Here’s a look at some of the latest spring practice reports from various teams around college football.
Spring college football 2013: Oklahoma, Nebraska, Clemson suffer injuries
The Oklahoma Sooners, Nebraska Cornhuskers and Clemson Tigers all lost defenders over the weekend during college football spring practice.

Oklahoma
Oklahoma starting center Gabe Ikard broke his hand and could be out for spring practice. There is a chance that Ikard could end up moving over to guard when he comes back and his backup, Ty Darlington, will take over as the one.
Nebraska
Nebraska running back Ameer Abdullah is probably out for the rest of spring practice due to tweaking his knees. Abdullah will be out at least a couple of weeks. Only Imani Cross is left as an experienced running back for the Cornhuskers.
Georgia
The Georgia offensive line will be one of the main strengths considering the type of players that could be returning, but it's unclear who will end up starting. John Theus and Chris Burnette are out with injuries, with the former potentially returning before practice ends. Meanwhile, Mark Beard is taking over at left tackle.
Clemson
Two Tigers were injured on Monday, with safety Travis Blanks injuring his head and defensive back Jadar Johnson dislocating his elbow. Both Clemson defenders figure to be out until after spring break.
Oklahoma State
The Cowboys hired Tim Duffie as their new defensive backs coach, replacing Jason Jones, who is taking over at Ole Miss. Duffie has spent most of the last half-decade at Fort Collins, where he coached the Oklahoma State secondary.
Washington
Washington tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins was involved in an accident, which was later reported to be a DUI. Husky head coach Steve Sarkisian released a statement indicating that Seferian-Jenkins will be disciplined for his misconduct.
Cal
Cal senior quarterback Allan Bridgford opted to transfer from the Bears after he fell behind in the battle to win the starting quarterback position. It currently looks as if junior Austin Hinder, redshirt freshman Zach Kline and early enrollee Jared Goff are the three top candidates to win the job.
