Michigan has lined up Cincinnati for a 2017 matchup in Michigan Stadium, with the current kickoff date slated for Sept 9, according to Angelique S. Chengelis of the Detroit News. Michigan will pay Cincinnati $1.2 million for the trip, reports Nick Baumgardner at MLive.com.
Michigan to host Cincinnati in 2017
The Wolverines will play the Bearcats on Sept. 9, 2017.

The Big Ten has been looking to toughen up its schedules by no longer planning to play FCS opponents. Outside of another home matchup with Appalachian State (who is FBS-bound soon), the Wolverines will be sticking exclusively to FBS opponents the next several seasons. Utah, Oregon State, UConn and Colorado are the high-profile opponents upcoming in future years for Michigan. Cincinnati has plenty of Big Ten in its future, including dates with Purdue, Illinois and Ohio State.
Additionally, Michigan and Cincinnati will play a home-and-home series in basketball. One game will be played in 2015 and the other in 2018.
