Clint Trickett visiting Auburn, USF, according to ESPN

The former Seminoles quarterback wants to be a starter next season.

Melina Vastola-USA TODAY Sports

Florida State transfer Clint Trickett will visit South Florida and Auburn in the near future, according to a report from ESPN's Joe Schad. Trickett's interest in USF, as well as West Virginia, was first reported by SB Nation's Bud Elliott. Trickett spent last weekend in Morgantown visiting the Mountaineers, and Michigan is another potential destination for the redshirt junior.

Trickett will earn his undergraduate degree from FSU this spring, so he will be able to play immediately as a graduate transfer next season. He spent three years with the Florida State program, the last two as a reserve behind E.J. Manuel. He had hoped to step into the starting role in Tallahassee, but he was out-played by freshman Jameis Winston during spring practice and decided it was in his best interests to move on.

Trickett has some history with new USF head coach Willie Taggart -- Taggart recruited him out of high school -- which is one reason why he is considering the Bulls. South Florida has a starting quarterback to replace, as does West Virginia.
