Markeith Ambles was an elite prospect in the class of 2010 when he signed with USC, but some off-field troubles cut short his career there. After parting ways with the Trojans, Ambles spent time playing at a junior college, and now he is heading back to the FBS, this time to play for the Houston Cougars.

The ex-Trojan is one of the top 10 junior college wide receiver prospects in the nation.

Ambles’ problems at USC began almost as soon as he arrived on campus. He was suspended indefinitely by the team during his freshman season, and he quickly fell behind in his classwork. Ambles was declared academically ineligible for the 2011 season and left the program the following spring.
He didn’t think he was treated fairly by Lane Kiffin at the time but also placed blame on his own shoulders for his failed Trojans career. “I partied too much,” Ambles said in a 2012 interview. “At USC, there was always a party every night.”
Houston is giving him a chance to prove that things have changed.
