NCAA ‘satisfied’ with Auburn’s defense against Selena Roberts story

Auburn AD Jay Jacobs implies the NCAA will not be digging deeper into the Roopstigo story on the football program, and it is satisfied with the response from the university.

The NCAA is apparently satisfied with Auburn’s defense to the Selena Roberts roopstigo story, according to CBSSports.com’s Jeremy Fowler. Auburn athletic director Jay Jacobs issued a formal response to Roberts’ story back in April and has been communicating with the NCAA since.

Since Roberts' story was released, nearly all quoted parties have either denied involvement or claimed they were misquoted. This list includes Auburn police chief Tommy Dawson, former head coach Gene Chizik, and former Auburn players Neiko Thorpe, Daren Bates, Antoine Carter and Mike Blanc, as well as Michael Dyer, Dre Kirkpatrick and current Florida head coach Will Muschamp.

Roberts’ report accused various members of the Auburn program of academic fraud, concealing drug tests, paying players, as well as creating a racist atmosphere. With the evidence for those claims evaporating, though, it doesn’t look like the NCAA will be opening an investigation.
