Texas A&M athletic director Eric Hyman told a joke at Alabama’s expense at a Thursday night dinner for the Brazos County A&M Club:
Texas A&M AD cracks joke at Alabama’s expense
“What does the moon and Texas A&M have in common?” is a joke that does not have the green-cheese-related punchline you’d expect.
Eric Hyman to the crowd at BCA&M Coach's Night: "What does the moon and Texas A&M have in common? We control the Tide."

Head coach Kevin Sumlin, taking the podium after Hyman’s quip, took the joke in stride:
Sumlin just received a standing ovation. His response to Hyman? 'No pressure, Eric. Thank you.'

Alabama fans probably won’t dismiss the quip quite so easily. The joke set off a Twitter discussion between radio host Paul Finebaum -- who is about to field 200 calls from irate Crimson Tide fans demanding blood -- and Texas A&M president R. Bowen Loftin.
Nick is going to be mad! @CecilHurt @BrentZwerneman: AD Eric Hyman to club: 'What do moon and A&M have in common? We control the Tide.'"

@finebaum @CecilHurt @BrentZwerneman Paul, he is already mad.

Alabama and Texas A&M open SEC play on Sept. 14 at Kyle Field, an early-season game that could decide the course of the SEC West and the national championship picture. Texas A&M famously handed Alabama its only loss in 2012, a 29-24 win in Tuscaloosa that propelled quarterback Johnny Manziel to the Heisman Trophy.
