SEC Media Days: Johnny Manziel denies being hungover

The Heisman Trophy winner denied being hungover at the Manning camp, but acknowledged that he’s made mistakes this offseason.

The long wait is over, and Johnny Manziel spoke with ESPN's Joe Tessitore at SEC Media Days on Wednesday morning. The Heisman Trophy winner was asked about his exploits this offseason, most notably his early exit from the Manning Passing Academy in July.

Manziel denied being hungover at the event where he was a coach, and refused to get into the details beyond that he overslept. He did say that he made mistakes, but that he’s looking forward to going back to the camp next year. Manziel’s father claimed that his son left the camp due to “dehydration.”

On the topic of how he’s been portrayed in the media this offseason, Manziel said “I’ve brought a little bit on myself.” He also said that he feels a little bit like Justin Bieber with all the attention he’s drawn, which should draw out a coordinated Twitter attack from Beliebers worldwide for having the audacity to compare himself to the singer.
