When asked about changes to his mechanics made by new offensive coordinator and QB coach Cam Cameron, LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger responded with comments that included a bit of a, uh, critique of Tim Tebow.
LSU’s Zach Mettenberger on Tim Tebow: ‘Terrible mechanics’
Oh hey, a shot at Tim Tebow out of nowhere.
Mettenberger on tweaks Cam Cameron has made w him.. Ends w "it's not like I'm Tim Tebow and have terrible mechanics."

Now see, that’s just not very nice, Zach. Have a heart, man. (But at least Tajh Boyd is amused.)
But ESPN probably appreciates the opportunity granted here. Now we can all transition seamlessly from breathless coverage of Johnny Manziel's offseason tribulations to Tim Tebow's Tim Tebow TIM TEBOW.
Mettenberger hasn’t exactly had what one would call an accomplished college career, and it doesn’t compare favorably to Tebow’s, to put it mildly. So he’s opened himself up to this sort of thing:
Y'all let me know when Zach Mettenberger tops a 64.4 percent completion rate for a full season. That was Tebow's lowest at Florida.
