Arizona lands Longhorns transfer QB

USA TODAY SportsBrewer was ranked as the No. 4 pro-style quarterback in his class, per 247’s composite. But the Arizona native didn’t have the career arc he had hoped for at Texas. It wasn’t a problem that he redshirted as a freshman with David Ash and Case McCoy the obvious starter and backup, but he evidently saw that he was being squeezed out of the picture at quarterback.
Once Brewer announced his departure from Texas, it didn’t take long for some big-name programs to come calling. The former Arizona high school standout heard from Alabama, Notre Dame, Stanford, Tennessee, UCLA, Arizona and Arizona State. Many of those programs offered him scholarships out of high school.
