Middle Tennessee player charged with 2 counts of domestic aggravated assault
J.D. Jones is facing assault charges, and campus police say they have video of the defensive lineman choking a woman.

Teammates Rodney O'Neal and Marcus Robinson were taken into custody the same day and charged with two counts of aiding and abetting. All three players have been suspended from the team.
A report from The Daily News Journal offers some additional details and unfortunately this may not be an isolated incident. The victim says she has been assaulted on multiple occasions since October of 2012:
The victim accused Jones of numerous assaults from October 2012 to May 2013. She recalled details of three specific incidents, according to the police report. In the third incident, the victim said Jones hit her with a pink baseball-type bat.
A court date for the trio has been set for Aug. 29, which is the same day as Middle Tennessee’s season-opening game.
