Northwestern quarterback Kain Colter spoke in support of the O'Bannon suit against the NCAA while at Big Ten Media Day on Wednesday. Colter is not among the player plaintiffs in the suit, but he made it clear which side he is on:

Kolter was a dynamic presence for the Wildcats last year, combining for 1,763 yards and 20 touchdowns on the ground and in the air. He also had 169 receiving yards on 16 receptions in 2012, as the coaching staff was fond of moving him around to capitalize on his versatility.
Six current college football players joined the O’Bannon suit as plaintiffs earlier in July, but it’s not just players who are in support of the suit. Maryland head coach Randy Edsall was also vocal in support of the plaintiff’s efforts when speaking at the ACC Kickoff earlier in the week.
It’s not that surprising to hear a player voice his support for the O’Bannon suit, but it’s somewhat surprising to hear from a coach. Coaches don’t stand to make more money if players are compensated, in fact, it stands to reason that they could make less. However, if coaches do genuinely have the best interests of their players at heart, it would make sense that they would support the lawsuit.
