Earlier Wednesday, word came out that Texas A&M quarterback and reigning Heisman winner Johnny Manziel would be suspended for the first half of his team's opener against the Rice Owls Saturday, reportedly ending the NCAA's investigation into whether the quarterback did or did not accept money for signing autographs.
Deion Sanders, Tyrann Mathieu weigh in on Johnny Manziel’s suspension
Former and current football players are weighing in on the Johnny Football verdict. Do they approve of the suspension?

The suspension has caused a considerable reaction on Twitter, especially within the current and ex-player community.
Deion Sanders brought up an alleged inconsistency with how the NCAA hands down suspensions, citing the case of former Oklahoma State star wide receiver Dez Bryant.
Can we investigate the investigators? @DezBryant got suspended a season 4 lying about a dinner that wasnt a violation & Manziel gets a half.

Bryant, of course, was suspended for much of his final season in Stillwater for failing to disclose an “interaction” with Sanders. He previously (and publicly) blasted the NCAA, and has said he would be angry if the NCAA failed to suspend Manziel.
Current Arizona Cardinal and former LSU Tiger had some thoughts on the matter as well, in a tweet he later deleted (but was saved forever by CBS’s Bruce Feldman).
Of course RT @Mathieu_Era: Johnny football a boss...

Mathieu was kicked off LSU’s football team for multiple failed drug tests in August 2012.
Former Auburn cornerback Jerraud Powers, now Mathieu's teammate in Arizona, also had something to say.
Johnny Football got off lol....

Moving on to the Aggie contingent, former A&M player Jamie McCoy, now with the Steelers, tried to get a hashtag going.
For everyone who was hating on Johnny I know y'all mad. Just heard the news and it made my day. #freejohnny haha not really tho

Former Aggie Jordan Richmond, who has since transferred, kept it short and sweet.
Lol Johnny. Football !

Meanwhile, current Aggie linebacker A.J. Hilliard started coy...
I wonder what's trending right now...
Les Miles was diplomatic:
Miles on Manziel's suspension - "If it's the right thing, I'm for it." #LSU
