Charlie Weis did not have a good time in his first season as head coach of Kansas. The Jayhawks won their first game of 2012 against FCS stalwart South Dakota State, but a one-point loss to Rice in Week 2 sent Kansas into a downward spiral. The team lost its last eleven games, including a 59-10 drubbing by West Virginia in the season finale.
Kansas Jayhawks count Spring Game as 2012 win
The Jayhawks start 2013 on a one-game winning streak! Or at least half of the Jayhawks do.

Or at least that is what the neutral recordkeepers will say. If you ask the Jayhawks, the 2012 season actually ended in a triumphant 34-7 Kansas victory ... against Kansas (via Pete Scantlebury of PowerMizzou.com):

This is a screenshot of the KU football schedule, from the Jayhawks’ official site (click to enlarge):
While the Jayhawks list the team on a one-game winning streak, technically that streak only applies to half the squad. The other half has now lost twelve games in a row.
Kansas’ official site is hosted by Sidearm Sports. The Bylaw Blog’s John Infante suggested that it could be Sidearm, and not Kansas, that listed the Spring Game. However, other Sidearm sites, such as Texas and Kent State, do not have their spring scrimmages listed in the 2012 schedule.
Kansas opens its 2013 season September 7 against South Dakota. The season will end with the spring game sometime in April 2014.
