Bob Bowlsby’s son appears to be shooting down Texas rumors on Twitter

Shortly after reports surfaced that Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds would step down by the end of the year, Bob Bowlsby emerged as a strong target for the university to consider. The University of Texas has denied that Dodds will step down, however.

Bowlsby’s son, Kyle Bowlsby, took to Twitter on Friday and shot down the rumors of his father heading to Austin.

Bowlsby is the current Big 12 commissioner and most recently worked as Stanford’s athletic director in 2012. He was also Iowa’s AD from 1990 to 2006.

It is worth noting that Kyle is not verified on Twitter, though our research leads us to believe that is in fact the Big 12 commissioner’s son tweeting.

If the reports of DeLoss stepping down prove true, there will be a frenzy in athletic departments across the country until a replacement is named. The Texas athletic director job is arguably the best in the country and the university will leave no stone unturned in their search.
